Thurrock foodbank

The members of the church support the Thurrock Food Bank project with weekly donations of food as well as financial contributions.

We also operate a distribution centre for the foodbank on Thursdays between 11a.m. and 1p.m. at the St. Francis Centre in Linford. Here we are able to provide three days supply of food for people in crisis who arrive with the appropriate Thurrock foodbank voucher. If you have donations for the foodbank these can be dropped off when the foodbank is open on a Thursday. As well as providing food we aim to provide a comfortable environment where clients can have tea or coffee, biscuits and a listening ear if that is helpful for them. Where appropriate we can suggest other agencies that may be able to help them and of course we will pray for them and their situation.

While we are essentially open for the foodbank clients on a Thursday, anyone is welcome to just come for conversation and refreshment.

All donations of non-perishable food are welcome and the items that are in short suppy can be found on the foodbank website at:-     Food shortages

Donations can be left at St. Francis on Wednesday between 10.30a.m. and noon or Thursday between 11a.m. and 1p.m.

Community Support "drop-in"

On Wednesday mornings between 10.30am and noon at St. Francis we are able to provide table service refreshment for anyone in the community that is looking for some company or support in a friendly environment. As the premises have a highspeed broadband connection we are able to provide internet access and, on occasions, advice with digital issues. Please feel very welcome to visit.

Newcomers

If you are new to the Parish please feel free to join with us at one of our Sunday services or see us on a Wednesday morning at our Community Support "drop-in".
